Scarlet's Summer

What a wonderful weekend of cleaning and catching up on various projects! It feels good to get things done and be organized (or semi-organized) again.

I have a finish to share with you. My Scarlet's Summer Sampler from Chessie and Me is done! I love how it turned out

I also brought out an oldie but goodie. This piece brings back fond memories of being at the lake with my Auntie Florence. I spent many weekends working on this while at her cabin. It's called You Are My Sunshine and it was designed by La D Da.

That buds on my balloon flower plant exploded this past week. There are many more buds that have yet to open. Isn't it beautiful?

And the hydrangea plant is looking good too!

When I visited the Mad Tatter last week, she gave me this doily. I forgot to share it with you. I love it. (It's done with a Mocha colored thread, but it looks yellowish in the photo, probably due to the green table).

Hope the week ahead treats you right!

Catching Up

I had things to post earlier in the week, but just didn't feel like updating this old blog. Let me get you caught up.

On Tuesday, July 4, I visited the Mad Tatter. She wanted me to share the following pictures with you. She's been busy tatting in red, white and blue.

Her moss roses were in bloom. Aren't they pretty?

Her balloon flowers were also blooming. I love the color of these flowers.

Back at our house, the flowers are finally starting to fully bloom too. There are tons of buds just waiting to pop on my balloon flower plant.

And the color of these hydrangea blooms are so pretty.

And, I took the plunge. I am going to stitch Dutch Beauty along with several other instagram stitchers.

I started at the top left and made good progress on the left border last night.

That's all I've got!

Making Progress

I've made good progress on this piece, but I still have quite a bit left (most of what is left is over one!)

76 Trombones Led the Big Parade

So tonight I'm thinking about the movie, The Music Man. This was the musical production my senior year of high school and I was one of the "Pick a little, talk a little" ladies. :)

One of my friends asked when the big marching band was coming in the WIP Parade. Technically this isn't a WIP yet, because I haven't started it, but it's going to be a big one. I guess you could say that I am jumping on the Instagram "marching band-wagon". My pattern arrived yesterday...

For those who might not recognize it, it's a classic sampler. It's on the top 100 sampler list. It's called Dutch Beauty. I picked up my DMC fibers today. Now I just need to figure out the stitch count. I think I have to learn Dutch first.

I've made a little more progress on my Chessie and Me piece. Instead of counting sheep, I've been stitching sheep.

Happy 150th Birthday to all of my Canadian friends!
